Most of my life I have always attempted to understand and paint reality.  This has become a challenge, a challenge since my youth.  To unite three dimensions and create a two dimensional world through exploring The unity of color, light, shadow, texture on canvas.  The subject of matter and the forms it holds, and the spaces and experiences it accommodates fascinates me.  The different experiences I have encountered weather terror, loss, love or live, one can always return to comfort in a common space or object.  I admire the poetic value in this simplicity.  The honesty of a simple concept, is what brings me back to my chosen subject matter.
