Ilio Piccioli was born on
February 21st, 1930, in Italy. In 1952, he graduated with a degree in Fine
Arts, in Florence, Italy. In 1962, he received a degree in Education &
Methodology, and a specialized certificate (1967) from the École des
beaux-arts in Montreal. Finally in 1979, he graduated with a B.A. in Visual
Arts.
From 1950 to 1952, he
exhibited in Milan, Rome, and Florence. He settled in Montreal in 1954, and
worked as a statue decorator, painter at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel (1957),
interior decorator at Henry Morgan’s, and collaborated in the Notre-Dame
Church restoration (1962-1963). He took part in several group and solo
exhibitions. He is a member of the Association des professeurs d’arts
plastiques du Québec, and Cercle des artistes peintres du Québec.
His works can be found in many private and public collections in the United-States and Canada.
